Plunger

So yesterday Adrienne brings me the plunger. EW. So I promptly take it out of her hands and take it back to the bathroom. She comes in so I can wash her hands then she says, "PeePee". I check her diaper and it is clean. She points to the toilet and says "PeePee" again. Like mom, how much more obvious could I be. I ask if she wants to go in the toilet and nods her head in a way only Adrienne can. We sit her on the potty and she goes! Number one and number two. Awesome! I can't believe this girl. She is such a character!

So the Question: What should I do now? Should I start potty training her or should I chalk it up to her being sharp and very curious because she sees Ashton and me (on separate occasions) using the toilet. Seriously can you potty train an 18 month old?

Someone who has had experience with potty training a child before 3 1/4 years old (like the last one) please tell me what to do.

That is incredible! You've got a child prodigy on your hands. I am truly jealous.

Obviously, I have no advice for you considering Gavin wasn't potty trained until 3 1/2 and Ty is showing no interest yet. But I do have some neighbors who potty trained their little boy at 16 months. From what I've heard, it was pretty rough because it was more the parents trying to potty train him than him wanting to be potty trained. But I think if Adrienne's ready, just go with it. It sounds like she will let you know when she wants to go, and I think that's the hardest part when their that young. So go for it! (And again, I'm very jealous.)

Wow - I'm so glad Anthony (19 mos.) isn't requesting to go potty in the toilet yet! I'm not even working on Bryan yet - I think theres just way too much other stuff going on in his life right now, but it'll come soon enough. I guess go with it if she will keep telling you that she needs to go, and it wasn't just a one time thing right now. Good luck!
