My awesome neighbors Pete and Zan hosted a concert in their backyard. Christopher Layer is a Uileann bagpipe player. You're probably thinking what I was thinking, Bag pipes? Really? I don't know what this is going to be like... But this type of pipes has a really pretty sound. And Christopher is very entertaining and witty. He has played large venues all over the world so it was neat to meet him and hear him in such an intimate setting.

His set up- notice the duck to the right..

The artist himself

After the concert he and my cute neighbor Becca sat down for a jam session with the fiddle. Becca is seventeen and she played like a pro, improvising on the music and really holding her own. It felt like we were witnessing a star being born. Just knowing that she is really going to go places due to her amazing musical abilities.

Isn't she cute.

I wish I would have taken pics of everyone who was there. It was a great cultural experience and a fun night out.
