Indie

If I lived another life I would move to New York City and be a musician. That is if I new how to play the guitar and if I could sing. But remember, that is a different life, so those things are irrelevant.

So since I live this life, I will have to live vicariously through other people's lives who do amazing things-like my high school acquaintance/friend Merrady. I was the new girl in school and she befriended me in PE. We spent a lot of time cracking up in that class. Anyway, she has come a long way from those days:

She lives in New York and is a acoustic/folk/indie musician. I recently connected with her on facebook(otherwise known as -stalkpeopleyoubarelyknowand addasafriend). Despite that, I love her music and think that everyone else I know will love it too.

Check her out at http://merrady.com

Listen to playlist, especially her song California and watch her video of The Acquaintance.

You'll like it.

Seattle

Hi. Here are the pics of Seattle. I have a long explanation at the bottom of my tumultuous weekend with the camera and my desire to be a semi-professional photog albeit without the skill. But most people just like the pics. So feel free to read or not.

Here is Spencer. He needs to be an actor. We have about three separate photo shoots of him doing stunts and I capturing it in slow mo.

We had a miracle experience in Seattle, it was sunny the whole time we were there! That has never happened on any other trip we've been there. So that was a plus. Another cool thing, I borrowed my bro in law's nikon d40 and took a bunch of pictures with my telephoto lens. I originally wanted to take family pics of each family to get experience with a nicer camera and work towards my goal of being a semi-professional photographer. But after this weekend I realize I have potential, but I still have a lot to learn.

I got a lot of experience and the pics got better and better throughout from the first day to the end of the second day-I took about 400 pics. But I am left with a little disappointment about my "natural artistic eye" and I've realized from some of the really good shots, that many professionals must use photoshop, a lot. I think photoshop is okay as long as you don't abuse it, but it has created this unrealistic level of a beautiful shot.

My goal is now to become a great photographer without very much use of photoshop. I know it sounds weird to have to "learn" to be a good photographer, either you are a good photog or not.
And I am not. But I would like to overcome my underachieving desire and really excel at something I do like. Even though it doesn't come natural.

And all of you are along for the ride. if you want. If you don't want, then don't read. I will still love you.
So now that you have sat through this excruciatingly long explanation of my rollercoaster ride of wanting to be a wonderful photographer, hope you enjoy the random pics for what they are.
