I need to vent right now. I have wanted to see Wicked for over a year now and today the tickets went on sale in Salt Lake City. I registered on the website last night so that I would be able to get on right away and order 6 tickets any day and any performance any seats. I'm thinking, okay I should be able to get some pretty easy since I'm so flexible.
Oh I was sooooo wrong! I tried for four hours to simultaneously call on the phone and order through the website arttix.org. First of all I couldn't even load the website arttix.org. Then I finally got on and logged in, and I'm getting all excited because I am picking the dates, any date!!! Yes!
Then this page comes up and says that they are stopping orders online due to too much traffic. AAAAGGHH!!!!!! I was so close.
I'm feeling pretty defeated at this point but I haven't given up. This is were I get very frustrated. I looked on KSL and found a bunch of tickets, but these people bought the maximum amount of tickets per person and are now selling $55, $75, $100, and a maximum of $150 seats for 100%-300% more! Stupid hoarders. I think that is so wrong. These people don't even need the seats, they just want to make a buck and extort other people.
I know there are people who are willing to pay that much, but I feel that this is not a normal supply and demand model. If the venue thought that they could charge that amount and people would pay it, then the ticket would have been $300 dollars to start with. The people who hoard the tickets and then re sell them on KSL and Craigslist are preying on people's emotions and trying to make people feel desperate. I think this is wrong and very unethical.
So if anyone wants to sell me 6 tickets for a reasonable price then let me know. I will not pay a processing fee. You do not deserve to be paid for the extra steps that you took. If you would have bought the amount of tickets that you needed, instead of trying to extort people, there would be enough for me and everyone else to obtain them through conventional avenues.
Now over 40 performances over a month period with a few thousand seats available every night are sold out within a matter of hours thanks to rude and greedy hoarders.
Thanks a lot. I hope Karma has you on its list.
